Jane Tweedie is a distinguished Chartered Accountant (FCA) with a deep-rooted commitment to the not-for-profit sector. Her career journey spans over three decades, marked by her unwavering dedication to serving charitable organisations and educational institutions.
With an 11 year period at Baker Tilly (now RSM) as an audit manager and charity specialist, followed by a decade-long period as Senior Audit Manager at WR Partners, Jane has accumulated a wealth of experience and expertise in the field. Specialising in charities and education, Jane brings invaluable insights to the table, catering to a diverse range of clients including academies, charitable trusts, and Cooperative and Community benefit societies.
Jane’s multifaceted role encompasses audit, compliance, and governance work, where she plays a pivotal role in providing trustee training, guidance on governance, and risk management. As an experienced independent examiner for smaller charities with income below £1 million, Jane ensures financial transparency and accountability within the sector.
Jane serves as a Co-opted Governor on the Audit and Risk Committee at Coleg Cambria in NE Wales, demonstrating her commitment to promoting excellence in education.
Jane finds fulfillment in winning new clients and delivering exceptional service to them. Personally, she takes immense pride in successfully navigating the challenges of parenthood and raising four children to adulthood.
With a BSc, FCA qualification, and an ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting, Jane is an expert in the not-for-profit accounting realm. She gains the most satisfaction from direct client involvement and is passionate about helping trustees understand their accounts and the audit process, enabling them to realise the benefits for their charities.
Outside of work, Jane finds joy in supporting Wrexham AFC, spending quality time with her family, and enjoying leisurely walks with her two border terriers. Despite her admitted lack of coordination, she has recently discovered a love for Zumba.
Jane remains committed to providing excellent service to charity clients, fostering recommendations, and tendering for new opportunities, all while continuing to make a positive impact in the not-for-profit sector.
