Welsh Economic Resilience Fund – Phase 4

Applications for the Business Development Grant element of the third phase of the Welsh Economic Resilience Fund has been paused as the grant was massively oversubscribed.
The Welsh Government has therefore announced that funding has now been set aside for a fourth phase of the Economic Resilience Fund. The fourth phase is likely to open for expressions of interest ‘in the coming weeks’. Businesses who weren’t able to submit an application for the third phase are being advised to keep their bids ready including any documentation that they had prepared.
WR Partners comment – the third phase of the ERF was oversubscribed almost as soon as it opened and it seems likely that demand for the fourth phase will similarly be extremely high. While the precise criteria are not yet known it seems reasonable to assume that they will be similar to the third phase.
Businesses wishing to apply would therefore be well advised to prepare all they need to apply for the grant now so they are ready to apply as soon as possible after the next phase opens.
