Proud award sponsors for the Powys Business Award 2022

With roots in Wales for many decades, we are honoured to be involved in the annual Powys Business Awards again this year as an award sponsor.
Last month, 23 companies, social enterprises and charities were shortlisted before judging for the winner on the night commenced.
As the sponsor for the Small Business Award (Under 30 employees), we are pleased to announce the finalists for this award are:
CMD Ltd in Newtown;
Severn Transport Services Ltd in Welshpool;
Montgomeryshire Homes Ltd, Welshpool.
The finalists for the other awards are detailed below.
The awards are organised by the Mid Wales Manufacturing Group and will be held on the 7th of October in Dering Lines, Brecon.
Annually, the award offers a unique opportunity for local businesses to showcase the country’s brilliant enterprise.
In the official press release Ceri Stephens, MWMG’s group manager, said: “We are really pleased that entries were strong again this year despite the challenges of the past two years. I would like to thank all the businesses, social enterprises and charities that took the time to enter the awards.
“The judges were impressed by the wide variety of businesses that exist within Powys and had a very difficult task shortlisting the finalists. They are looking forward to visiting each of the finalists to unearth the county’s real gems.”
Phil Pugh, Director, based in the Newtown office and judge for this year’s awards, said: “A true annual celebration for all the great businesses across Powys; we are incredibly proud to be involved and sponsoring the Powys Business Awards again this year.

Bryndu Caravan and Camping in Brecon; Mesh Telematics Limited in Machynlleth, and Nomadic Washrooms in Welshpool are finalists for the Start-up Business Award (Sponsored by EvaBuild)
Four individuals have made the shortlist for the Entrepreneurship Award sponsored by Welsh Government, including Gwyn Evans from Bettws Hall, near Newtown; Richard Glover-Davies from Gloversure and Montgomeryshire Homes Ltd in Welshpool; Trudy Davies from Woosnam and Davies News, Llani Barbers and Talerddig Bakery Store in Llanidloes and Adam Watkin from Trax JH, Tyre Protector and Gresolvent in Newtown.
The Celtic Company in Welshpool; PM Training and Assessing Ltd, Crickhowell and SP Filling Systems Ltd, Llandrindod Wells are finalists for the Micro Business Award (fewer than 10 employees), which Welshpool Printing Group sponsors.
The Growth Award, sponsored by The County Times, has the following shortlisted companies; Makefast Ltd in Newtown, Dawson Shanahan & Radnor Hills, Knighton and Morland UK in Welshpool.
The Social Enterprise/ Charity Award, sponsored by Myrick Training Services, has the following finalists; Calan DVS in Brecon, Open Newtown and The Game Change Project CIC in Newtown.
Small Business Growth Award sponsored by EDF Renewables has shortlisted companies: The Cellar Drinks Company in Crickhowell, Severn Transport Services Ltd and Montgomeryshire Homes in Welshpool.
Lastly, The Technology & Innovation Award, sponsored by ForrestBrown, has finalists including; Nidec – Control Techniques and CMD Ltd in Newtown; Dawson Shanahan in Welshpool.
EOM Electrical Contractors Ltd in Newtown, SWG Group and Wipak in Welshpool are finalists for the People Development Award, which NPTC Group of Colleges sponsors.
